Cedar Rapids Iowa Food and Product Shortage's (9/17/21)

This is what the local stores in Cedar Rapids Ia looked like on 9/17/21. My daughter and I went to Dollar Fresh, Wal-Mart, Sam's, Dollar General, and Target. The holiday rush is just around the corner and the toy isle is bare. It is going to be a tuff season for families to find the things they want and need this year. This is the 3rd week we have done this walk through, and it has only gotten worse every week. The medicine isle have been hit hard, And as you will see the shoe isle are nearly empty!

(The Hill Story)

A Washington post and ABC Poll shows that 72 % of un- vaccinated workers would quit their jobs if a Vaccine Mandate were put in place. This would have a great impact on current food shortages in the months ahead. Tysons Foods is mandating that all workers be vaccinated by Nov 1st. At last report only 56,000 of their 120,000 employees had been vaccinated (less than 50%) that leaves 64,000 un-vaccinated. Let us say this poll is true that would mean a loss of 44,800 employees! At a time where there is already a labor shortage. Tyson Foods is a modern, multi-national, protein-focused food company producing approximately 20% of the beef, pork and chicken in the United States in addition to a portfolio of foods under the Tyson®, Jimmy Dean®, Hillshire Farm®, BallPark®, Wright®, Aidell's® and State Fair® brands. The trucking industry would also take a large hit. In a driver market that skews heavily on the demand-side, many drivers said they would walk over being forced to decide between taking a vaccination versus losing their job or face regular testing. Responding to a poll this week by CCJ sister publication Truckers News, 30% of company drivers said they would refuse a mandatory vaccine and force the employer to fire them. Another nearly 17% said they would claim a medical or religious exemption, while 16% said they would quit. Almost 7% said they would comply and get the vaccine.
